This week I did a short trip to the Farne Islands with Delta Safari with the main focus on puffins. These birds are really funny creatures! The trip starts in IJmuiden (NL) where you take the ferry to Newcastle (UK). You spend the night on board of the ferry and get off the ferry the next morning. Then you drive by bus to Seahouses where several operators have tours to go and watch thousands of birds from a boat and you can walk along a path on 2 islands (one is open for a 1-hour visit in the morning, the other in the afternoon). Besides the birds, you can see also grey seals. After the boat trip you get back on the bus to the ferry in Newcastle. The next morning you’re back in IJmuiden. The schedule is pretty tight, but it is an amazing trip. The organization of the trip by Delta Safari was great!
